our process

We will first start off with a 1 hour brand strategy consultation meeting either in person, on the phone or online. During this meeting, we will learn more about your needs, personality and exactly what your company is all about. We will also review any visual inspirations you have available you may have: photos, websites themes, swatches, sketches and so on.

Within 48 hours of your consultation, we’ll send you a price estimate and proposal that includes the project scope: budget, timeline, design phases and final delivery date if not otherwise specified. Estimates and proposals are valid for up-to 2 weeks. It’s best if you get in touch as soon as possible, as you’re preferred slot may get filled up. This means, your start date for your branding project will be postposed by 4-6 weeks.

After you give us feedback or make any needed changes, we’ll sign an agreement. At this time, a non-refundable 50% deposit is due. The balance of the deposit will be divided until the completion date of this project and an invoicing schedule will be provided to you with the initial invoice.

Booking & Sign-Off

Once we receive your client application through our website, we will set up a video call to meet and chat about your project. If we both decide this is a good fit and we’d love to move forward, the project scope and proposal are signed-off. We will secure a starting date, the timeline for each phase, feedback and revisions to keep on track. At this time there is non-refundable deposit.

Discovery & Strategy

LRD will send over a design strategy questionnaire to fill out, followed by a 1:1 strategy call depending on the scope of your project. From here, you’ll receive a strategy document, visual direction document, and or content map (for those who decided to work with us on your website). During this phase, we will also include a moodboard to make sure our visions align and we’re on track.

Research

Market and product research, target audience and trend analysis. In order to understand the project very thoroughly, we collect requirements and details from the client. We analyze and compare the market history, the industry and it’s competitors. We look for visual techniques and create a design plan.

Concept

Focus groups, statistics, colour and design theory. In this phase, we create conceptual layouts, wireframes, and use case scenarios. When conceptualizing, we are focused on reflection, positioning and presentation of the business objective.

Design & Refinement

This is the fun stage of your branding journey. Once both parties approve of the moodboard, I begin working on the conceptual direction. The initial brand concept will be presented to you in a PDF document and you’ll be able to provide feedback at this time. We will refine your chosen concept up to two times.

For website projects, the homepage will be designed and presented, followed by an opportunity for refinement. Once this is approved following the refinement stage, I’ll build out the remainder of the site. Once again, a set of refinements to follow for the entire site.

Delivery + Launch

This is the final stage, and you’ll be getting very excited to see your final product and brand come to life. At this point, all designs are finalized and signed-off by both parties. All deliverables and brand guides are created and approved for hand off. Before hand off of all assets and/or website is launched, the final invoice is paid in full.
