The Mackenzie Room
THE MACKENZIE ROOM CELEBRATES THE ABUNDANT PACIFIC NORTHWEST WITH AN EVOLVING CHALKBOARD MENU
The Mackenzie Room opened in 2014 in the heart of Railtown. They share their love of honest food, engaging service and delicious drink with everyone. They search locally for exceptional products that showcase the best of what BC has to offer. Their food is exciting, playful and always thoughtful.
In search for the best quality ingredients the West Coast has to offer, the Mackenzie team believes that fresh ingredients and exceptional service are what you deserve, and that a delicious local beverage paired with food from around home should be your routine.
We take a lot of pride in what we do, and we have a lot of fun doing it.
Challenge
In collaboration with JB Design + Branding, we created a simple branding concept with a vintage feel for this stunning new restaurant. The branding and interior design concepts are inspired by the era of Andrew’s great grandfather Sir William Mackenzie, Canadian National Railway contractor and entrepreneur in the early 1900’s.
Solution
The history of The Mackenzie Room came from the grand-father of Andrew and how he worked on the Canadian railways. The logo is a combination the industrial and rustic vibes of the up and coming Railtown neighbourhood, grandfathers history of working on the railway, and friendly vibes.
