Sleep Bolster
Senja Sleep has created our dream sleep bolster. A pillow that you get cozy with by wrapping your arms and legs around to keep your spine aligned throughout the night. Made with sustainable materials in Canada.
Being apart of their brand development and identity process was right on par with my sleep regime. All the excess pillows for confirm (tucking a pillow between my knees) while sleeping on my side are over.
LRD worked alongside the team at Senja Sleep to create a brand identity that embodied the ideas of design and mindfulness. This was executed through a variety of deliverables, including the overarching brand identity, wordmark, monogram, art direction, styleguide, visual guidance, and much more.
Challenge
The word “senja” means dusk or twilight in Indonesian. “Senja” was chosen as the company name for the word’s pleasing phonetics, its uniqueness in the North American context, and its logical connection to nighttime and sleeping. The brand’s visual identity incorporates the imagery of a setting sun, as well as the colours observed during dusk.
We wanted to bring in colours of the dusk sky into the logo and primary colours. Standing out from the crowd as the challenge with a new pillow business launching in Canada.
Competitors:
Body, Pregnancy, Knee Pillows and Incumbent Guling are Senja Sleeps competitors. They wanted to position themselves to be high functionality/comfort with a strong design/aesthetic.
Solution
LRD worked with with the founders to ensure the brand identity aligns with their target market and positioning. We chose soft pastel colours which are neutral in colour reflecting a calm dusk scene. The logotype font was selected to convey joyful and friendly approach with soft clean lines.
